The Albertinum has a chapel built in 1905, which today is in need of a complete restoration.
Of all the chapels constructed in Fribourg at the beginning of the twentieth century, the Albertinum is one of the last, and the only preserved in its original state.
An Association of Friends of the Albertinum Chapel was established in 2019, with the aim of “working towards the restoration of the chapel of the Albertinum and of overseeing its use for sacred and cultural purposes (the holding of concerts, exhibitions, etc).”
A preliminary analysis report for the chapel’s restoration was completed in March 2020.
Once the cost estimates for the chapel’s restoration are accepted, and provided that the Association will have been able to raise the necessary funds, the restoration work will be able to commence.
Don’t hesitate to join the Association of Friends of the Chapel or to make a donation!
